About the Event
Following the success of last year's "Last Night of the Proms" themed Brass in the Park, Cheltenham Silver Band returns to Hatherley Park to bring a programme of free brass band music and family entertainment in the heart of our community.
Part of Cheltenham's Holst 150 celebration, this year's theme is "Made in Gloucestershire". The event will celebrate the works of local musicians and music that has a link to some of the things that Gloucestershire is famous for, opening with a performance of part of "A Moorside Suite", the only piece of music composed by Gustav Holst specifically for brass band.
Youngsters will be excited by the return of the very popular brass and percussion "have a go" tent. This year you will will also be able to view the Holst House Museum's Victorian Era Exhibition, and find out more about Gloucestershire's role in the development of Jet Aircraft courtesy of the Jet Age Museum.
Please come along and support your local Brass Band, celebrate the county, and enjoying a relaxing afternoon in one of Cheltenham's lovely parks.
