The Cheltenham Silver Bands Awards ceremony was held on Saturday 6 September 2025. Congratulations to the following members, who were recognised for their contributions to the band.

Most Improved Player: Frankie (Principal Cornet)

“Frankie has stepped up to the role of principal cornet, and coped fantastically with the challenge of being the only regular solo cornet in the band.”





Academy Band

“The horns have worked incredibly hard all year, on some very challenging music, which they have taken in their stride.”

“Margaret has made a significant step up this year to compete with the Academy Band, and has done really well with the more challenging music.”





Player of the Year: Rob (Euphonium)

“Rob has performed brilliantly at the Areas and throughout the summer. He works hard and is a fantastic leader for the lower brass.”

“Their commitment to rehearsals, practice and teamwork has been inspiring this year.”
